About the Role

The role of the Sign Technician is vital in ensuring the effective creation and distribution of signage produced by the Central Sign Shop. The responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Sign Construction and Assembly
  • Hand Lettering
  • Silk Screening
  • Shipping and Receiving
Key Responsibilities

As a Sign Technician, you will utilize various materials such as plywood, extruded aluminum panels, utility-grade aluminum, and reflective materials to design signs using specialized software. You will operate tools including table saws, radial arm saws, and metal shears during the production and assembly phases. The finished signs will be prepared for dispatch and loaded onto vehicles, either manually or with a forklift.

Additionally, maintaining a clean and organized workspace is essential, which may involve performing light janitorial tasks.

Qualifications and Skills

A minimum of Grade 12 education is required, or a combination of relevant education, training, and experience will be considered. Candidates should possess strong mathematical skills, effective written and verbal communication abilities, and proficiency in using computers for inventory management.

Training in operating table saws, radial cut-off saws, silk screening, and overhead cranes is necessary. The ideal candidate will have a mechanical aptitude, familiarity with Flex-Sign software, and computer skills. Forklift and loader operation training will be considered advantageous.

We seek a self-motivated individual who can work independently with minimal supervision while also being an effective team player. Accuracy, time management, and organizational skills are crucial to meet established priorities. A professional demeanor and a commitment to high standards of client service are expected.

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

Working Conditions

This position is physically demanding, requiring strength and dexterity for lifting and moving materials. There may be occasional exposure to smoke and fumes from machinery.

Additional Information

This opportunity is for one (1) position and will be based out of Bible Hill (Zone 14). This is a full-time, year-round position.

Salary Range: $22.74 Hourly
