Electromechanical Assembler Opportunity

MDA Space, a leading provider of space-based solutions, is seeking an experienced Electromechanical Assembler to join our Satellite Systems team in Montreal.

The Position:

As an Electromechanical Assembler, you will be responsible for performing assembly of electromechanical products and operating SMT machines. You will work independently, selecting from known processes and analyzing data to ensure high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare components for assembly
  • Tin components as required
  • Manually assemble through-hole and surface mount technology components on printed circuit boards
  • Operate and adjust automated inspection and assembly equipment
  • Prepare and handle polymeric products for component bonding
  • Install cables and mechanically integrate modules, flex, and printed circuit boards
  • Inspect and validate compliance of tasks performed by colleagues
  • Support Research and Development efforts
  • Perform other related tasks as required

Requirements:

  • College diploma or secondary school vocational diploma in electromechanical, mechanical, aeronautical, or equivalent field
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience
  • Plan reading and basic knowledge of tolerances and geometrical dimensions
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 standards
  • Ability to recover and enter data with a computer system
  • Use of production databases
  • Fine manual dexterity
  • Good knowledge of French; basic knowledge of English is an asset

Security Clearance: Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
