Position Overview:
The Autism Support Facilitator plays a crucial role in enhancing the lives of individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families. This position is integral to the mission of Kerry's Place Autism Services, focusing on delivering personalized support that aligns with the organization's core values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct assistance to individuals with ASD, ensuring that their daily needs are met in a manner that promotes dignity and respect.
- Collaborate with families and community resources to facilitate effective support strategies.
- Implement person-centered planning to help individuals achieve their personal goals.
- Document and maintain comprehensive records of individual progress and incidents in accordance with organizational policies.
- Administer medication and monitor its effects, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Human or Social Services or a related field.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, particularly in community settings.
- Strong understanding of the principles of supporting individuals within their family and community contexts.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including families and community agencies.
- A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
