Company Overview

Layfield Group Ltd is seeking skilled Geomembrane Installation Technicians to enhance our Construction division.

Position Overview

This full-time, permanent role involves significant travel to various job sites throughout British Columbia and Alberta, with private accommodations provided for employees. The starting wage is $35.50 per hour.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be a safety-oriented professional, flexible with scheduling, and enjoy working outdoors throughout the year. Collaboration within a team setting is essential. Employment is contingent upon passing pre-employment evaluations, including drug and alcohol testing as well as fit-for-work assessments.

Language Requirements

Work will be conducted in English, both spoken and written.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in or lead the deployment of materials.
  • Support the installation and welding of geomembrane liners and environmental containment systems.
  • Operate plastic fusion welding equipment, including wedge welders, leisters, and tensiometers, along with basic hand tools.
  • Identify and recommend improvements for processes and equipment.
  • Assist in training new crew members.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites and stay away for extended periods, up to 24 days.
  • Ability to successfully complete pre-employment testing for site-specific access.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license or government-issued photo ID.
  • Current safety certifications, including CSTS and WHMIS.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules.
  • Enjoyment of outdoor work.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safety.
  • Good analytical abilities and sound judgment for problem-solving.
