About the Role

The City of Yellowknife is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Economic Development Officer to join its Economic Development and Strategy Department. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in coordinating the administration, implementation, and operation of the City's economic development programs and grants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the implementation of the City's Economic Development Strategy and assist with other plans such as the Joint Economic Development Strategy, Tourism Strategy, and Agriculture Strategy.
  • Lead activities and initiatives that attract investment and business opportunities in the City and support business retention and expansion activities.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, establish effective channels of communication, and maintain a collaborative working relationship.
  • Maintain good judgement and discretion, and possess the ability to problem solve and mediate various situations.
Requirements
  • University degree in commerce, business administration, communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in business development, communications, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
What We Offer

The City of Yellowknife offers an attractive annual salary range of $85,780.84 - $103,445.91, as well as a comprehensive benefits package including a defined benefit pension plan, and monthly housing and vacation travel allowances totaling $450.
