Therapeutic Foster Care Program

Wood's Homes is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our Therapeutic Foster Care Program as Home Fire Keepers. As a Home Fire Keeper, you will provide in-home care to young people who have experienced disconnection from their community and culture.

Role Summary

The Home Fire Keeper will tend to the emotional, spiritual, physical, and cognitive development of the child by helping to find positive reconnection. This role requires a strong understanding of trauma, healthy development, positive parenting, and quality caregiving.

Expectations
  • Provide in-home care to young people who have experienced trauma and disconnection from their community and culture.
  • Work collaboratively with a team of youth specialists, cultural leads, and a clinician to provide comprehensive support.
  • Participate in extensive training prior to client intakes and ongoing professional development.
  • Be available in their homes and have previous experience caring for youth and managing challenging behaviors.
Compensation

Foster Caregivers will receive tax-free daily compensation starting at $0.00/child. Participation in training will be compensated, and compensatory increases based on years of service.
