Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail. As a Slot Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, major overhauls, and modifications to various casino assets, ensuring they are in good working order and meet regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair slot/video machines and associated progressive meters on the gaming floor, ensuring they are functioning correctly and efficiently.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical repairs at the circuit board level, troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Maintain and repair gaming-related units, such as automated card shufflers, Cage equipment, Park and Pay, and HERMES printing machines, ensuring they are in good working order.
  • Comply with pre-determined internal controls and procedures, adhering to regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Comply with safety and security standards, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Perform machine installations, moves, and conversions, documenting all activities to comply with regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Assist in lifting slot machines weighing over 200 lbs. on a regular basis, ensuring safe handling and transportation.
  • Familiarize yourself with design, repair, and maintenance standards for all Electronic and Slot Games, staying up-to-date with industry developments.
  • Troubleshoot electronic issues, using your technical expertise to resolve complex problems.
  • Perform other duties as required, supporting the team and contributing to the success of the organization.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent combination of working experience and education, with a background in electronics.
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License, meeting regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of slot operating systems, with a strong understanding of technical principles.
  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of computer software packages and the ability to troubleshoot electronic equipment, staying up-to-date with industry developments.
  • Professional attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and a proven track record of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Detailed-oriented and excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven ability and willingness to learn and keep current within the industry, staying up-to-date with regulatory requirements and industry developments.
  • Ability to travel regularly between Ontario sites, with a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work long hours and up to six days per week, with flexibility to meet business needs.
  • Must be able to work on equipment and lift up to 50 lbs., with a strong emphasis on safety and physical well-being.
Work Environment Considerations
  • Regular casino environment, with exposure to noise, some exposure to verbal abuse, and non-traditional work hours.
