Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Recreation team to create comprehensive wellness programming plans.
  • Assist residents in achieving their wellness goals and develop strategies to meet those objectives.
  • Evaluate programs to ensure they align with residents' needs and expectations.
  • Design, analyze, and review individualized and community-wide resident programs.
  • Build partnerships with local businesses and community organizations to enhance program development.
  • Facilitate orientation for new residents regarding the recreation department and available services.

Qualifications

We value continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A two-year post-secondary diploma in Recreation Therapy
  • Knowledge of techniques and equipment for various recreation programs in therapeutic settings
  • Understanding of human behavior related to the leisure needs of the resident population
  • Energetic and compassionate demeanor with experience in programming for seniors
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with proficient computer skills
  • Class G Driver's License is an asset
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification, as well as a Safe Food Handler's Course
  • High initiative, effort, and commitment to completing tasks efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
