Key Responsibilities- Transportation: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Customer Service: Address customers' complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment, and perform preventive maintenance as needed.
- Documentation: Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, and maintain accurate records.
- Communication: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, and operate GPS and other navigation equipment.
- Certifications: Air Brake (Z) Endorsement and Driver's License (Class 1 or A).
- Documentation Knowledge: Accurate knowledge of accident or incident reports, bill of lading, driver logbook, inspection report, maintenance and repair reports, and trip reports.
- Communication Systems: Experience with GPS and other navigation equipment, and ability to operate a trip recorder (on-board computer).
- Security and Safety: Valid passport, criminal record check, driver's validity license check, driving record check (abstract), and drug test.
- Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver's license, willingness to travel cross-border, travel for extended periods, and travel internationally.
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to handle heavy loads, work in a physically demanding environment, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Weight Handling: Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
- Personal Suitability: Excellent interpersonal skills, oral communication, written communication, flexibility, judgment, organization, reliability, and teamwork.
- Free Parking: Available on-site.
- Learning/Training: Paid by employer.
