Job Title: Success Centre Teacher

Pythagoras Academy is seeking an experienced educator to join our team as a Success Centre Teacher. As a key member of our educational community, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic success of our students.

Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate educator who can create engaging learning experiences that cater to the diverse needs of our students. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the BC Curriculum and be able to develop and implement effective lesson plans that promote student growth and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver student learning that incorporates BC Curriculum objectives, including STEM and design thinking.
  • Assess student learning using formative and summative methods, incorporating feedback, student reflection, and formal reporting.
  • Be the touchstone for parents, students, and teachers, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Personalize learning opportunities for students, taking into account their individual needs and abilities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop integrated lessons and units that promote student learning and engagement.
  • Maintain appropriate standards of behaviour, mutual respect, and safety within the classroom.
  • Incorporate appropriate technology use to enhance student learning and engagement.
  • Integrate social responsibility and kindness into daily teaching and routines.
Requirements
  • Possess or be in the process of obtaining a valid BC Teaching Certificate.
  • Possess a Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in education.
  • Model a strong work ethic and high standards of commitment.
  • Foster the school's mission, values, and sense of community through student-centered decisions.
  • Effectively communicate with staff, parents, and students.
  • Maintain professionalism through all school interactions and activities.
