We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Care Aide to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a Care Aide, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support in our acute care setting.
Key Responsibilities- Provide personal care and assistance to patients, including bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Assist with meals and oral hygiene, and provide support with vital signs and documentation
- Respond to call bells and alarms, and report significant observations to nursing staff
- Monitor patients' progress, symptoms, and behavioral changes, and provide updates to the care team
- Utilize established lifting and safety techniques, and use equipment to assist patients with positioning, activation, and transportation
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff
- Grade 10, plus graduation from a recognized Nursing Assistant Program or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to deal with others effectively
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Ability to organize work and operate related equipment
