Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Ready Mix Concrete Truck Driver to join our team at Heidelberg Materials US, Inc. As a key member of our distribution team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality concrete to our customers in a timely and safe manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Concrete to Customers: Safely transport and deliver concrete to our customers' job sites, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Operate Heavy Equipment: Operate a mixer truck to transport and pour concrete, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Inspect Concrete Quality: Visually inspect the concrete mix to ensure it meets quality standards, including slump and constituent levels.
  • Communicate with Customers: Work closely with customers to ensure maximum customer satisfaction, addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
  • Maintain Vehicle and Equipment: Regularly inspect and maintain the mixer truck and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Adhere to Safety Protocols: Follow all safety procedures and regulations, including those related to transportation, equipment operation, and customer interactions.
Requirements
  • Class 1 or 3 License with Air Endorsement: Possess a valid Class 1 or 3 driver's license with an air endorsement.
  • Experience Driving Heavy Trucks: Have at least 3 years of experience safely driving heavy trucks, with a good driving record.
  • Communication and Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrate excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of Transportation Regulations: Have a solid understanding of local and provincial transportation regulations and trucking routes.
  • Basic Mechanical Knowledge: Possess basic mechanical knowledge or skills for minor preventative maintenance and pre-shift inspections.
  • Physical Demands: Be able to lift and assemble concrete chutes weighing 50 lbs, sit and stand for extended periods, kneel, climb ladders, and walk on varied terrain.
  • Availability: Be available to work six days a week (Monday – Saturday) and occasionally on Sunday, with the ability to work overtime as business and weather conditions warrant.
