Housekeeper (St. Peter's Residence at Chedoke)

We are seeking a skilled Housekeeper to join our team at St. Peter's Residence at Chedoke. As a Housekeeper, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents.

About the Role

This is a part-time and casual opportunity to work with a team of dedicated healthcare professionals who are passionate about delivering exceptional care. As a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing housekeeping duties to maintain a home-like environment that is clean, tidy, attractive, and safe.
  • Working collaboratively with other team members to ensure the highest quality of sanitation, cleanliness, and attention to detail.
  • Cleaning areas using appropriate cleaning and sanitation procedures, including sinks, toilets, tubs, furniture, and facility fixtures.
  • Operating floor care machines and steam cleaning equipment to maintain our residence's floors.
  • Performing garbage removal and disposal, including potentially infectious materials and incontinence products.
  • Adapting cleaning schedules to meet the needs of residents and other scheduled activities.
  • Assisting in the labelling, collection, distribution, sorting, and inspection of clean and soiled personal clothing and linens.
  • Participating in department Quality Improvement/Risk Management programs and committees as requested.
  • Being aware of and practicing residence fire safety and emergency programs.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Good communication skills, in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Good listening skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to respond to the needs of others, including residents and co-workers.
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure.
  • Able to complete work with minimal direction.
