About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team at Gurmish Painting. As a Tile Setter, you will be responsible for installing tiles in various settings, including walls, floors, and countertops.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mix and Apply Adhesives: Mix and apply various adhesives, such as mortar, cement, and mastic, to prepare surfaces for tile installation.
  • Prepare Plans and Sketches: Create rough plans and sketches to visualize tile layouts and ensure accurate installation.
  • Set Tiles in Place: Set tiles in place, applying pressure to affix them to the base surface.
  • Align and Straighten Tiles: Align and straighten tiles to ensure a level and even surface.
  • Cut and Fit Tiles: Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools.
  • Instruct Apprentices: Train and instruct apprentices in tile setting techniques and best practices.
  • Remove and Replace Tiles: Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles to maintain a high-quality finish.
  • Supervise Workers: Supervise and guide other workers to ensure efficient and safe tile installation.
  • Create Decorative Designs: Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural, and floor designs.
  • Estimate Costs and Materials: Estimate costs and materials required for tile installation projects.
  • Mix and Polish Surfaces: Mix and lay terra surfaces, and polish them to a high shine.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in tile setting.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 35 hours per week.
