Job Summary

The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly skilled Operations Manager to join our team in the Lethbridge District Office. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and delivery of the highway maintenance program and highway maintenance contractor performance management program specific to provincial highways within the Lethbridge District boundaries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Administration: Provide oversight of district operations & maintenance to ensure the continuity of a safe and efficient transportation network across the Lethbridge District.
  • Contract Management: Prepare and administer contracts for consulting, construction, and maintenance services, as well as service agreements.
  • Project Management: Demonstrate advanced project management skills, including time management and fiscal responsibilities, to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including preparing technical and non-technical review packages and responses.
  • Business Development: Contribute to the development and update of programs such as the Highway Maintenance Program, Alberta Environment and Protected Area's Park Road Maintenance Program, and the Regional Seal Coat Program.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in a related field, preferably in a government or public sector organization.
  • Skills: Strong project management and leadership skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
