Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at William Osler Health System. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medication Dispensing and Distribution: Dispense and distribute medications, including individual patient prescriptions, ward stock, and narcotics, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Inventory Control: Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records, including tracking and ordering of medications and supplies.
  • Compounding and Preparation: Prepare and compound medications, including TPN, CIVA, and chemotherapy preparation, in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance activities, including audits and inspections, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with healthcare teams, including pharmacists, nurses, and physicians, to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification: Currently licensed Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
  • Experience: Hospital experience preferred, with a strong understanding of pharmacy operations and procedures.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
