Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at William Osler Health System. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medication Dispensing and Distribution: You will be responsible for dispensing and distributing medications, including individual patient prescriptions, ward stock, and narcotics, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Compounding and Inventory Control: You will assist in the preparation of non-sterile and sterile compounds, including TPN, CIVA, and chemotherapy preparation, and maintain accurate inventory levels.
  • Quality Assurance: You will participate in quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
  • Collaboration and Communication: You will work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification: You must be currently licensed as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
  • Experience: Hospital experience is preferred, and registration with the Canadian Association of Pharmacy Technicians is also preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities: You must possess excellent oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Additional Requirements: You may be required to travel between and work at all Osler sites, and you must demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation, and Collaboration.
