Position Overview
This role involves overseeing the Special Loans division within the Risk Management Unit at National Bank. As a Senior Manager, you will leverage your expertise to assess risks and implement strategies for managing high-risk commercial accounts effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Mitigate loan losses, legal exposure, and reputational risks for the organization.
- Revitalize profitability for accounts facing financial challenges.
- Conduct thorough monitoring of accounts to uphold portfolio integrity.
- Engage in high-level committees and represent the organization in various forums and with key stakeholders.
- Reduce the number of loans categorized as impaired.
- Negotiate terms with diverse stakeholders.
- Provide support and guidance to business lines and credit sectors in managing special cases and projects.
Team Dynamics
You will be part of a specialized team consisting of 23 professionals, reporting directly to the Vice-President of Special Loans. Our team is recognized for its deep understanding of credit structuring and the legal landscape, contributing significantly to the Bank's objectives.
Qualifications
- A university degree coupled with a decade of relevant experience.
- Extensive knowledge of commercial lending and syndicated transactions.
- Experience in bankruptcy and insolvency matters.
- Familiarity with capital markets is advantageous.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in engaging with various stakeholders.
- Exceptional negotiation capabilities.
Language Proficiency
Fluency in English and French is required, as you will interact with clients speaking both languages.
