The Role: Class 1 Driver
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Class 1 Driver to join our team in Vancouver. As a key member of our operations, you will play a vital role in collecting raw materials from our valued customers.
Your Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a Class 1 truck to transport materials according to scheduled routes.
- Collect raw materials from diverse customer locations, including food processing facilities, restaurants, supermarkets, and commercial kitchens.
- Utilize vacuum pumps, hydraulic equipment, and other fleet tools effectively and safely.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Maintain clear communication with dispatchers regarding any issues or concerns encountered during routes.
- Adapt to flexible work schedules, including early mornings and weekends, as required by business needs.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Possesses a valid BC Class 1 Driver's license with a clean abstract.
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of the Lower Mainland area and surrounding neighborhoods.
- Has a minimum of 2 years of experience driving commercial trucks or in a similar capacity.
- Prior experience operating roll-off trucks is an asset.
- Exhibits excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer interactions.
- Is physically capable of performing tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling equipment up to 50 lbs. with occasional assistance for heavier items.
- Can adapt to various working conditions, including cold weather, odors, and exposure to raw materials.
