Job Summary

We are seeking highly skilled and experienced Police Dispatchers to join our dynamic team. As a Police Dispatcher, you will play a crucial role in our emergency communications operations, coordinating and dispatching police response to a variety of calls, including high-priority incidents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and dispatch police response to emergency calls
  • Provide continuous updates to officers and the public via radio and CAD systems
  • Support police operations by analyzing events, assessing risks, and acquiring necessary resources
  • Optimize resource use through effective assessment of reports, geographical location, and available resources
  • Take emergency police calls for E-Comm Partner police agencies
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years in an emergency communication center with 1 year of recent dispatching experience in British Columbia
  • Proficiency with CPIC, CAD, PRIME, radio, and recording equipment
  • Strong knowledge of emergency response procedures and law enforcement protocols
  • Excellent communication and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Typing ability of 44wpm

Security Requirements

As a condition of employment, the required Police Security Clearance must be acquired and maintained. This is a process carried out by our law enforcement partner agencies, facilitated by E-Comm.

The minimum residency in Canada to qualify for this position is 3 years. To qualify for this process, a candidate may be either a Canadian Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen.
