Before and After School Care Attendant

We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Before and After School Care Attendant with School District No. 60. This is a casual position that requires flexibility and a commitment to providing high-quality care to school-aged children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage children in activities that promote learning and development, such as storytelling, singing, and crafts.
  • Prepare healthy snacks and maintain a safe and organized environment for activities and rest periods.
  • Assist with housekeeping duties and maintain toys and equipment.
  • Provide support services, such as photocopying, typing, and filing.
  • Use a range of equipment, including adaptive technology and computer systems.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalency
  • Education Assistant or ECE college courses would be an asset
  • One year training/experience working with school-aged children is preferred
  • Level 1 First Aid Certificate may be required
  • Food Safe Certificate
  • Ability to work independently and set priorities
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to be an integral part of a team
  • Must be able to pass a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records Search conducted by the District prior to starting employment
