Role Summary

What is the opportunity?

As a key member of the RBC Family Office Services team, the Financial Planning Specialist plays a vital role in collaborating with our advisors to provide tailored, comprehensive financial strategies for High Net Worth (HNW) clients within RBC Wealth Management. Your expertise will also contribute to business growth, identifying opportunities, and driving revenue.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed financial strategies that align with clients' unique requirements in areas such as investment, retirement, tax, risk management, and estate planning.
  • Customize each financial strategy to address specific client concerns, including holding companies, employee stock options, individual pension plans, retirement compensation agreements, and charitable giving.
  • Simplify intricate strategies to support advisors effectively.
  • Collaborate closely with the Financial Planning Analyst team in crafting financial strategies.
  • Foster a work environment that encourages innovation, creativity, collaboration, and diversity.
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external networks and referral sources.

Qualifications for Success

Essential Requirements

  • A minimum of five years of experience in tax planning for high net worth individuals.
  • Five years of relevant experience in various aspects of financial planning.
  • Possession of one or more professional designations in Accounting: CA/CMA/CGA/CPA.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities and sound judgment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial planning software such as Conquest or Naviplan.
  • Capability to work both collaboratively and independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the investment and insurance sectors is a significant advantage.
  • Certified Financial Planners (CFP) designation or Financial Planner (F. Pl.) designation for Quebec is desirable.
