Become a vital member of our Therapeutic Recreation Services team at Baycrest as a Recreational Therapist, where you will play a key role in designing and facilitating enriching programs for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Therapeutic Recreation and Culture & Arts departments to create and execute therapeutic initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of program activities as required.
- Participate in team meetings to share insights and contribute to program development.
- Effectively supervise and mentor volunteers.
- Assist in the growth and development of the interprofessional team.
- Coordinate services across various departments to enhance program delivery.
- Efficiently manage and organize program supplies.
Required Qualifications:
- Possess a two-year College Diploma in Recreation or a related field.
- Be an active member of recognized professional associations.
- Have proven experience in planning and assessing recreational programs.
- Previous experience in managing volunteers is advantageous.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working with the elderly population is preferred.
- Knowledge of community resources and cultural diversity is an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
