Become a vital member of our Therapeutic Recreation Services team at Baycrest as a Recreational Therapist, where you will play a key role in designing and facilitating enriching programs for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Therapeutic Recreation and Culture & Arts departments to create and execute therapeutic initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of program activities as required.
  • Participate in team meetings to share insights and contribute to program development.
  • Effectively supervise and mentor volunteers.
  • Assist in the growth and development of the interprofessional team.
  • Coordinate services across various departments to enhance program delivery.
  • Efficiently manage and organize program supplies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Possess a two-year College Diploma in Recreation or a related field.
  • Be an active member of recognized professional associations.
  • Have proven experience in planning and assessing recreational programs.
  • Previous experience in managing volunteers is advantageous.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience working with the elderly population is preferred.
  • Knowledge of community resources and cultural diversity is an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
