Job Title: Procurement Specialist

Apollo Health & Beauty Care is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and selecting the best vendors to deliver high-quality materials to meet our production and sales requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze MRP reports to generate purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials
  • Monitor and expedite purchase orders as needed, and confirm and update ETAs in our ERP system
  • Communicate and escalate delivery issues impacting production in a timely manner
  • Coordinate with suppliers and logistics teams to arrange transportation for FOB shipments
  • Track shipments to avoid detention and demurrage charges
  • Ensure materials are available in time to meet new product launches
  • Monitor product transitions and discontinuations to minimize liability to Apollo
  • Coordinate with internal staff to review and maintain adequate supplies to meet production requirements while keeping inventory to a minimum
  • Attend and participate in daily production meetings and weekly new product meetings
  • Vendor management and rationalization
  • Multi-source materials to ensure business continuity and negotiate the best price possible
  • Enforce vendor compliance and ensure that Non Conformance Reports (NCR) are addressed and closed in a timely manner
  • Assist with Material Requisition Forms (MRF)
  • Keep abreast of market drivers to take advantage of cost reduction opportunities
  • Solicit and analyze supplier quotes and award new business
  • Liaise with Warehouse staff to optimize space allocation (shared responsibility)
  • Improve inventory turns, manage and keep all inventories current and up to date
  • Verify and authorize invoices
  • Verify inventory as required
  • General office administration and backup coverage for other Buyers on the Purchasing Team as required
  • Other projects as assigned
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience in procurement or a related field
  • Post-secondary education required; professional designation or certification preferred
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office
