About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our Mobile Maintenance team at the Detour Lake Mine site. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our mining operations.

Responsibilities
  • Perform regular servicing, preventative maintenance, and repairs on all applicable mobile equipment;
  • Use computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of required repairs;
  • Repair hydraulic, powertrain, and electrical systems;
  • Use various tools, including hydraulic power units, torque wrenches, and hoists;
  • Identify and report part requirements and supplies as needed;
  • Prepare electronic service reports and documentation in a timely and accurate manner;
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work area.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience with ultra-class mining equipment, including Caterpillar shovels and Epiroc drills;
  • Minimum five years' related experience in a fast-paced production environment;
  • Ontario Provincial or Inter-Provincial Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certificate is considered an asset;
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED;
  • Computer literacy and proven knowledge of CAT ET & SIS Web;
  • Focused and self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills.
