Job Summary
Watson Building Supplies is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Forklift Operator. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for preparing and loading/unloading building materials in our warehouse using a lift truck.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily inspections of lift trucks and complete required maintenance records
- Ensure lift truck maintenance and servicing requirements are met
- Build orders to required specifications for delivery
- Load and unload building materials in a safe and efficient manner
- Verify load contents for accuracy and secure materials
- Ensure timely shipment of products according to customer demands
- Maintain open communication with supervisors and resolve issues as they arise
- Represent the company with professionalism and courtesy to all employees and customers
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- Valid forklift certification (propane)
- Minimum two years of experience in a similar role
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Basic mathematical knowledge
- Basic hand tool skills
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs, sit and drive for extended periods, and perform frequent climbing, pulling, pushing, bending, and twisting movements
