Job Summary

Watson Building Supplies is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Forklift Operator. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for preparing and loading/unloading building materials in our warehouse using a lift truck.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily inspections of lift trucks and complete required maintenance records
  • Ensure lift truck maintenance and servicing requirements are met
  • Build orders to required specifications for delivery
  • Load and unload building materials in a safe and efficient manner
  • Verify load contents for accuracy and secure materials
  • Ensure timely shipment of products according to customer demands
  • Maintain open communication with supervisors and resolve issues as they arise
  • Represent the company with professionalism and courtesy to all employees and customers
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

  • Valid forklift certification (propane)
  • Minimum two years of experience in a similar role
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Basic mathematical knowledge
  • Basic hand tool skills
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs, sit and drive for extended periods, and perform frequent climbing, pulling, pushing, bending, and twisting movements
