Job Title: Senior Process Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Engineer to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a Senior Process Engineer, you will be responsible for providing design solutions and assessments for new, updated, and modified process systems, structures, and components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and review design documents for Nuclear Power Plants, including Design Calculations, Design Requirements, Assessments, Technical Specifications, Drawings, Bill of Materials, and System Code Classification.
  • Perform thermalhydraulic evaluations on complex systems and provide leadership to teams on assigned tasks.
  • Prepare and review Engineering Quotation Request and Tender Technical Evaluations, as well as Engineering packages.
  • Ensure adherence to company quality program and applicable code, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders and provide technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership to engineers.

Requirements:

  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
  • Engineering degree from an accredited University in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or Engineering Science.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in process-system design/analysis, preferably providing design solutions for CANDU nuclear power plants.
  • Experience performing work to nuclear power plants procedures and practices and qualifications for nuclear power plants engineering activities is an asset.
  • Experience in nuclear process system design and layout, heat balance, and thermalhydraulic evaluations.
  • Knowledge of analytical tools used for mechanical and process design, such as ANSYS, Mathcad, Flomaster, NUCIRC, CATHENA, or similar.
  • Working knowledge of/experience using nuclear Codes and Standards, including CSA N285.0 and ASME Section III.
  • Working knowledge of/experience with the CSA B51 standard, ASME B31.1 codes, and other nuclear-power-plant applicable standards or regulatory guides related to permanent plant components, pressure boundary equipment, and/or reactor systems.
  • Experience leading/mentoring teams and excellent communication and technical writing skills.
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
