The Head of Production plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional customer service consistently.

This position supports the director in overseeing store management functions to optimize outcomes and collaboratively establishes goals while clearly conveying expectations to the management team.

This role acts as a catalyst, ensuring consistency in personnel management practices.

As the Head of Production, your responsibilities will include:

  • Directing and managing the comprehensive production of meats, fish, seafood, deli items, ready-to-eat meals, cut fruits and vegetables, and baked goods to meet sales targets.
  • Articulating a strategic vision and direction for the production department.
  • Taking charge of sales forecasts and weekly production plans, ensuring timely updates.
  • Reviewing interdepartmental transfers and ensuring execution while analyzing weekly expenses to enhance departmental profitability.
  • Implementing strategies for loss prevention.
  • Facilitating knowledge transfer regarding products and services to colleagues in production and other store departments to improve customer interactions.
  • Sharing insights about production and services as well as products from other departments, addressing customer inquiries, and assisting them in making informed choices.
  • Utilizing available reports to identify inventory opportunities and taking necessary actions to optimize stock levels.
  • Presenting a strategic vision and direction for the production function.
  • Overseeing the training and onboarding of team members, ensuring they feel supported and empowered to meet expected standards, including through coaching and motivating personnel during transitions.
  • Ensuring the management team is trained to effectively train their staff.
  • Identifying development opportunities within and across teams for production staff. YOU SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service abilities.
  • Proven leadership in management, delegation, and conflict resolution.
  • Knowledge of inventory requirements for production departments.
  • Excellent coaching and mentoring capabilities.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to assess and make quality decisions.
  • Proficiency in analyzing financial and statistical data to inform decision-making.
  • Competence in interpreting planograms and layout sequences.
