Job Title: Patient Administrative Associate

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Administrative Associate to join our team at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Fracture Clinic, coordinating patient flow and activities, communicating with departments, and maintaining accurate patient records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced administrative support to the Fracture Clinic
  • Coordinate all administration and clerical activities within the department
  • Responsibilities include patient registration, updating patient information, scheduling appointments, ordering and coordinating x-rays and other diagnostic procedures, chart preparation, and handling incoming calls and emails
  • Other administrative duties as required
Qualifications
  • Two-year Business/Office Administration diploma
  • One year of administrative experience in a hospital/health care environment preferred
  • Candidates who have successfully completed the hospital's PAA training will be given priority consideration
  • Successful completion of Medical Terminology course
  • Competent in Microsoft Office software, Sunnycare, Quadramed, and Accuro
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with a diverse group of individuals
  • Proven ability to manage high-stress situations while completing multiple tasks and setting priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume team environment
  • Proven ability to organize workflow and function under fluctuating case/workload demands for 16 clinics
  • Keyboarding at 40w.p.m. with a maximum 5% error rate
  • Proficiency with electronic payroll system required
  • Experience in orthopaedics and trauma is strongly preferred
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to deal with conflict, and communicate appropriately with patients, families, and staff
  • Satisfactory attendance standards
