Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer 4th to join our team at Island Health. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing building systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain building systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Perform trade duties approaching the journeyman level in one or more construction trade areas.
  • Work on building demolition, renovation, and construction tasks, and may be used for building system operation and/or maintenance.
  • Carry out related administrative duties and supervise designated staff.
Requirements
  • Graduation from a recognized program in power engineering.
  • Three (3) years recent related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Certificate of competency as 4th Class Power Engineer.
Skills and Abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
