Contract Specialist Role

Reporting to the Supervisor Category Management - Indirect, the Contracts Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring that FortisAlberta's contractual agreements are accurate, compliant, and effectively managed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain contracts that adhere to legal standards and company policies.
  • Create comprehensive tenders aligned with current tendering regulations and corporate guidelines.
  • Document, manage, and file proposal evaluations throughout the pre-award and post-award phases.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders while upholding company practices and policies.
  • Research potential contract opportunities and propose innovative contract solutions.
  • Provide guidance to various departments on tendering processes and supplier evaluations.
  • Contribute to special projects and undertake additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

We seek a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of contract law and best practices.

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business Administration or a related field, coupled with a minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management.
  • Proven track record of at least 2 years in a Contracts role, encompassing contract creation, issuing Requests for Information (RFIs), Quotes, and Proposals (RFPs), and evaluating tender proposals.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access) with knowledge of SAP being an asset.
