We are seeking a skilled Counsellor to join our team at the University of British Columbia (UBC). As a Counsellor for International Students, you will provide high-quality counselling services to support the wellbeing and academic success of our international student population.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual and group counselling sessions to international students, addressing a range of personal concerns and crisis situations.
- Collaborate with other members of the Wellbeing and Accessibility Services team to develop and deliver psychoeducational services, workshops, and programs.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to counselling services and programs.
- Provide consultation services to faculty and staff on student wellbeing and psychological concerns.
- Supervise practicum students and students involved in peer programs, work-study programs, assistant positions, and volunteer assignments.
- Masters degree in Counselling Psychology or a related field and registration with a professional body (e.g. BCACC RCC designation).
- Minimum of five years' experience in clinical counselling, preferably with international students.
- Experience supervising Master's level practicum students and providing advice and guidance to international students.
- Demonstrated knowledge of student development theory and experience in program development, evaluation, consultation, and outreach.
