Job Title: Heavy Duty Truck Technician

Bayview Trucks - Dartmouth is a leading provider of heavy-duty truck and trailer services, with a strong presence in the region. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Duty Truck Technician to join our team at our Dartmouth location.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Repair and Diagnosis: Demonstrate expertise in the repair and diagnosis of medium and heavy-duty trucks and trailers, including engines, power trains, electrical systems, steering systems, electronics, brake systems, and suspension systems.
  • Parts Identification: Identify and determine parts required for repair of disassembled units.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services.
  • Warranty and Documentation: Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair order.
  • Vehicle Testing: Road test vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions or verify repair resolution.
  • Technical Reporting: Complete technical reports from different manufacturers, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Shift Work: Available to work rotational shifts to cover evenings and Saturdays, as well as covering after-hours service calls for emergencies.
  • Teamwork and Professionalism: Ability to work in a team environment and present themselves in a professional manner with a positive cooperative attitude.
  • Workplace Organization: Maintain an organized work space and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Certification: Completion of a College certification for Truck & Transport or Heavy Equipment Service Technician - MINIMUM BLOCK 3 COMPLETION.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift and move a maximum 50 lbs, (or in accordance with provincial workplace health & safety standards).
  • Training and Development: Willing and able to continue training to obtain and license.
  • Credentials: Clean Driver's abstract and Criminal Reference check.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills with the ability to work in Windows-based software.
  • Experience: Minimum 4 years experience in a Service environment.

Compensation is based on level of certification and experience.
