About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Music Educator to join our team at Merriam Music. As a Music Educator, you will be responsible for teaching music classes to students of all ages and skill levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to meet the needs of students, focusing on classical music, chamber music, jazz, and popular music.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative duties, such as maintaining student records, managing schedules, and communicating with parents and colleagues.
  • Leading/Instructing Groups: Lead and instruct groups of students in music classes, ensuring a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to students, parents, and colleagues, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Progress Reports: Write daily basic progress reports to track student progress and provide feedback to parents.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Hold a Royal Conservatory of Music Certification or equivalent.
  • Teaching Format Experience: Have experience teaching in a tutor/one-on-one instruction format.
  • Security and Safety: Possess a vulnerable sector check.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Demonstrate attention to detail and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Personal Suitability: Be organized, energetic, and able to work effectively in a team.
