About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Project Manager to join our team at Seaspan. As a key member of our Facilities Engineering department, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the electrical projects of our Vancouver shipyard's facilities, including buildings, equipment, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver electrical projects of varying scales, ensuring meticulous planning, execution, and closure within budget and timeline expectations.
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure project objectives are aligned with organizational goals and executed efficiently.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators to track project progress, quality, and adherence to defined specifications.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations for the enhancement of electrical operations within the facility.
  • Conduct risk assessments, devising and implementing strategies to preemptively address potential disruptions to project success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with 4-6 years of combined experience in technical and project management experience of an industrial or heavy construction work environment.
  • Certified Project Management (PMP) is an asset.
  • 4-6 years managing electrical projects with a strong electrical background. Demonstrate experience in handling electrical systems or equipment.
  • 4-6 years of managerial experience, with at least 2 years in a production environment, preferably in a unionized environment.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Proficient in directing and leading within a unionized work environment and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
