Job Title: Industrial Mechanic

Roquette is a global leader in plant-based ingredients and pharmaceutical excipients. We are seeking an experienced Industrial Mechanic to join our team in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production equipment and machinery.
  • Ensure proper performance and operation of equipment, minimizing downtime and production losses.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections, complete work orders, and respond to breakdowns/emergency repairs.
  • Weld, solder, and use cutting torches as required.
  • Deliver high-quality workmanship, adhering to Roquette's standards and regulations.
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine equipment repair requirements.
  • Estimate job material and labor requirements, providing feedback to planners.
  • Order necessary parts and materials, collaborating with suppliers as needed.
  • Apply mechanical principles and analytical techniques to improve manufacturing processes, focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Effectively troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment failures in a timely manner.
  • Identify throughput constraints and drive root cause improvement initiatives.
  • Complete maintenance shift reports using computerized software.
  • Balance the schedule between planned maintenance jobs and new jobs, prioritizing tasks according to business needs.
  • Review written documents, such as work orders and equipment-specific manufacturer's publications, to perform repairs.
  • Plan and prioritize workflow according to business needs and management instructions.
Requirements:
  • Certified Journeyperson industrial Millwright License or Equivalent issued by the Province of Manitoba or Red Seal Certificate from another province.
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.
  • Strong SAP knowledge and experience.
