Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Director to lead our radio station's programming and operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing local and regional broadcast and digital content, recruiting and supervising volunteers, and ensuring reliable station operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and oversee all local and regional broadcast and digital content
  • Recruit, supervise, train, and manage volunteers by developing and implementing programming and production training programs
  • Ensure reliable station operations, including management of station automation system, remote broadcasts, production of on-air program logs and playlists
  • Schedule and coordinate with on-air hosts to ensure proper coverage 24/7/365
  • Provide technical assistance for programming systems and maintain adherence to station policies and FCC rules and regulations related to programming
  • Coordinate with the Executive Director to achieve membership, underwriting, and fundraising goals
  • Represent the radio station in a collegial and professional manner
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in management, journalism, marketing, audio engineering, or broadcasting preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in programming and operations for a public or commercial radio station
  • At least 1 year of responsibility in management and leadership
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and on-air expertise
  • Exceptional organization skills with attention to detail
  • High proficiency in Google and Adobe suites
  • Experience developing and editing multimedia, photos, graphics, audio, and video
  • Demonstrated experience with and coordinating volunteers
  • Proficiency with digital editing, studio production, and automation software
