Program Director Job Description

Fraser Valley Community Media is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Director to oversee the overall sound of our community radio station, KFFR. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing local and regional broadcast and digital content, recruiting and managing volunteers, and ensuring reliable station operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement programming and production training programs for volunteers
  • Recruit, supervise, and manage volunteers to ensure high-quality programming
  • Manage station automation system and remote broadcasts
  • Produce on-air program logs and playlists
  • Monitor and ensure all audio files are in order
  • Schedule and coordinate with on-air hosts to ensure proper coverage
  • Provide technical assistance for programming systems
  • Maintain adherence to station policies and FCC rules and regulations
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in management, journalism, marketing, audio engineering, or broadcasting
  • 1-3 years of experience in programming and operations for a public or commercial radio station
  • At least 1 year of responsibility in management and leadership
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and on-air expertise
  • Exceptional organization skills with attention to detail
  • High proficiency in Google and Adobe suites
  • Experience developing and editing multimedia, photos, graphics, audio, and video
  • Demonstrated experience with and coordinating volunteers
  • Proficiency with digital editing, studio production, and automation software
