Job Title: Personal Support Worker

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Personal Support Worker to join our team at RhynoCare. As a key member of our care team, you will provide high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide skilled care for all activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, in accordance with corporate policy and recognized nursing practice.
  • Assist registered staff in nursing diagnostic and therapeutic measures, ensuring a holistic approach to resident care.
  • Complete all documentation on time, accurately, and in accordance with corporate policies, ensuring that it is current and up-to-date.
  • Ensure a quality approach to resident care, consistent with RhynoCare's Mission, Vision, Values, and the Resident Bill of Rights.
  • Provide assistance and support with resident meal service, restorative nursing, and other activities as needed.
  • Participate in agency risk management and quality improvement programs related to resident care.
  • Perform timely, accurate, and complete documentation for all care delivered on the assigned shift, in accordance with legislation, regulations, and internal requirements.
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Proficient verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to speak a second language is considered an asset.
  • Must meet one of the following criteria: successful completion of a Ministry of Education approved PSW Training Program (minimum 640 hours) from a Community College or a school approved by the National Association of Career Colleges, or RN, RPN, Paramedic, Occupational Therapy, and Physiotherapy students with successful completion of Year 1.
  • Experience working as a Facility PSW is considered an asset.
  • Negative T.B. skin test or chest x-ray.
  • Current CPR (BCLS) and First Aid Certificate.
  • Meet health surveillance requirements of the Public Hospitals Act.
  • Valid Criminal Record Check confirming absence of a criminal history/record.
