PAL Aerospace is actively seeking qualified candidates for the position of Avionics Engineer. We are open to applicants with varying levels of experience and encourage individuals from Ontario and the Atlantic Provinces to express their interest. Our team members enjoy the flexibility of working from any of our offices throughout Eastern Canada, supported by a hybrid work model.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in individual or collaborative projects focusing on aircraft modifications and repairs across a diverse range of aircraft, including both fixed and rotary wing types.
  • Interface directly with clients, equipment suppliers, regulatory bodies, and subcontractors to meet project specifications.
  • Conduct on-site installation assessments as necessary.
  • Maintain effective communication with installation teams during modification processes.
  • Oversee engineering design alterations throughout the installation phase.
  • Participate in and observe Flight, Ground, and EMI testing.
  • Prepare engineering and airworthiness documentation from the initial modification concept to final approval, including: Engineering analyses and reports, airworthiness compliance documentation, design models, engineering drawings for aircraft modifications, and technical publications such as maintenance manuals and flight test plans.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

We welcome applicants who possess some of the following skills and qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (preferably with a focus on Aerospace) and a minimum of three years of relevant experience in a technical role related to aircraft development or avionics system modifications, or a combination of education and applicable work experience.
  • Familiarity with civil avionics and electrical systems.
  • Understanding of airworthiness regulations and standards from Transport Canada, FAA, or EASA.
  • Experience in drafting engineering reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with aircraft maintenance procedures including AMM, WDM, IPC, and safety practices.
  • Knowledge of Functional Hazard Assessments, Systems Safety, and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis.
  • Familiarity with environmental qualifications such as DO-160.
  • Proficiency in electrical drafting using AutoCAD.
  • Experience in Design Approval Organization (DAO) activities.
