About the Role
The Senior Financial Analyst, Reporting role at Inter Pipeline will report to the Supervisor, Reporting. This position will assist with the financial reporting function for the business unit, including the review and analysis of various financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of the monthly and quarterly reporting package for senior leadership and corporate accounting
- Work closely with consolidation accountants and corporate accounting team for month and quarter end work
- Administer the month-end timeline, ensuring efficient and accurate financial processes
- Streamline existing processes and procedures to enhance operational efficiency
- Review and approve schedules, general ledger journal entries, and account reconciliations, offering recommendations to address reconciling items
- Analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual variances, collaborating with associated facilities for a comprehensive financial reporting package
- Utilize analytical thinking to evaluate complex business and accounting issues
- Prioritize workflow and day-to-day tasks to ensure timely processing and adherence to company guidelines
- Apply corporate accounting policies and auditing principles to maintain data integrity, SOX controls, and audit trails
Requirements
- CPA designation with a minimum of six to eight years of relevant experience
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience in accounting under IFRS
- Experience in corporate accounting and financial reporting
- Manage month-end timelines efficiently, ensuring accurate and timely results
- Proficient in navigating multi-entity and multi-currency environments, including consolidation of legal entities
- Organized, self-starter requiring minimal supervision
- SAP experience preferred
- Familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) tools is beneficial
Working Conditions
This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a pre-employment criminal background check assessment with satisfactory results.
