About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Accountant Lead to join our team at FLINT Corp. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for providing financial oversight and guidance to project managers, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and driving district financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of financial transaction coordinators, providing coaching and guidance to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure financial oversight and guidance, driving district financial performance.
  • Develop and implement financial reporting processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial information.
  • Manage month-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Prepare variance analysis and provide detailed analysis on margin erosion drivers.
  • Facilitate weekly A/R and WIP aging meetings, discussing transactions that are past due and developing plans to resolve.
  • Ensure all invoices are submitted correctly, following client requirements and escalating issues as needed.
  • Manage holdbacks for respective contracts, ensuring timely release.
  • Assess aging quality and determine if escalation is required to expedite payment.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports, providing visibility on project performance and highlighting key takeaways.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in project accounting, with a preference for the oil and gas industry.
  • Expertise in forecasting, project profitability analysis, and customer audits.
  • Strong understanding of client contracts, payment terms, and burden reimbursement.
  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in team leadership and collaboration.
  • Highly organized, efficient, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • High accuracy and precision in repetitive tasks.
  • Proficient in project cost control and accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Skilled in word processing and presentation tools.
  • Ability to operate in a high-pressure, deliverable-focused environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Managed and supported DSO improvement.
  • IFS experience is an asset.
  • University Degree in Accounting or Finance, with a CA, CMA, CGA, or CPA designation.
