The Registered Practical Nurse plays an essential part in our community, positively influencing the lives of residents and fostering meaningful connections.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Administering prescribed medications and treatments as directed by the physician, adhering to the College of Nurses of Ontario's standards.
- Documenting and addressing all concerns raised by clients, families, or team members, and collaborating with the Registered Nurse or designated personnel for assistance.
- Encouraging clients' self-care and independence, focusing on their strengths and promoting overall wellness through preventative health education.
- Completing necessary assessments, RAPS, and care plans within established timelines.
- Providing guidance, training, and support to unregulated care workers.
- Carrying out additional duties as required.
Essential Qualifications:
- Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Valid Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate.
- Current Medication Administration Certificate.
- At least one (1) year of experience in Geriatric Nursing, Healthcare, or Rehabilitation as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN).
- Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check is mandatory for all applicants.
- Compliance with provincial police check and tuberculosis screening requirements as applicable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Post-graduate education in Geriatrics or Nursing Administration is advantageous.
