Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Facilities Maintenance Attendant to join our team at School District #22 (Vernon). As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our schools and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain school facilities, including classrooms, hallways, and common areas, using a variety of equipment and cleaning products.
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety regulations and WHMIS guidelines.
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, unclogging drains, and replenishing supplies.
  • Remove snow, ice, and garbage from school grounds and facilities.
  • Provide building security services, including checking and securing buildings, setting alarms, and monitoring activities.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and visitors, responding to inquiries and providing general information.
Requirements
  • Grade 10 education or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of commercial building cleaning methods and procedures.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Physical ability to perform all aspects of the job, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of WHMIS regulations and Occupational Health & Safety guidelines.
  • Experience working in a school or educational setting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
