Your Role

As a Site Services Technician, you will collaborate closely with the Soils and Materials Team. Your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Implementing and advocating for Englobe's health and safety protocols;
  2. Delivering exceptional client service while thriving in a team-oriented environment;
  3. Conducting field tests on soil compaction, asphalt density, and concrete characteristics;
  4. Performing inspections, including rebar assessments and proof-rolling;
  5. Preparing field reports that detail equipment utilized, test sites, and outcomes;
  6. Participating in regular team meetings, which may occur outside of standard hours;
  7. Assisting with laboratory analyses as required;
  8. Supporting equipment calibration and facility maintenance as necessary;
  9. Carrying out additional tasks as directed by your supervisor.
Your Qualifications
  1. A Technical Diploma in a discipline related to Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering;
  2. Over 2 years of experience in highway materials, construction materials sampling, testing, and inspection, along with relevant association registration;
  3. CCIL or ACI certification is considered an asset;
  4. Knowledgeable about OPSS specifications pertaining to concrete, asphalt, and soil compaction;
  5. Familiar with the Unified Soil Classification System for soil identification;
  6. Capable of regularly handling samples weighing up to 25kg;
  7. Possession of a valid Ontario G Driver's License (driver abstract will be requested);
  8. Access to a personal vehicle in good working condition;
  9. A demonstrated commitment to occupational health and safety principles.
