Key Responsibilities- Child Care and Education: Assist early childhood educators in planning and implementing engaging activities that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
- Child Development and Support: Help early childhood educators in monitoring and recording children's progress, identifying areas of concern, and developing strategies to support their growth.
- Program Planning and Implementation: Assist in planning and organizing activities, including arts and crafts, storytelling, and educational games, to promote children's learning and development.
- Child Safety and Well-being: Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of children at all times, including administering medications and providing first aid when necessary.
- Communication and Teamwork: Maintain open and effective communication with early childhood educators, parents, and other staff members to ensure a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
- Experience: Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting is an asset.
- Work Environment: Non-smoking environment.
- Work Setting: Child care centre in an urban area.
- Certifications and Licenses: Child development assistant (ECE level 1) certification.
