Respiratory Therapist

Lakeridge Health is seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide Respiratory Care: Under the direction of the Manager, Respiratory Services, you will provide respiratory care to patients, including oxygen therapy, ventilation, and aerosol therapy.
- Document Patient Care: You will document all aspects of patient care, including treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Perform Diagnostic Testing: You will perform diagnostic testing, such as pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis.
- Maintain Equipment: You will be responsible for maintaining respiratory equipment, including ventilators and oxygen concentrators.
- Participate in Quality Assurance: You will participate in quality assurance activities, including peer review and performance improvement initiatives.
- Ensure Continuing Education: You will ensure that you stay up-to-date with the latest respiratory care techniques and technologies.
- Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Team: You will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and pharmacists, to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Diploma in Respiratory Therapy: You must have a diploma in respiratory therapy from an accredited program.
- Current Registration: You must be currently registered with the College of Respiratory Therapy of Ontario.
- Certifications: You must have current certifications in B.C.L.S. and Ontario Heart Foundation Standards.
- Skills and Qualities: You must possess excellent problem-solving, teaching, and communication skills, as well as strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Experience and Education: Clinical experience and advanced education are assets.
- Certifications: PALS and ACLS certifications are preferred.
- Attendance: You must have a good attendance record.
- Terms of Employment: Terms of employment will be in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
- Criminal Investigation Reference: A criminal investigation reference will be required.
