Role Overview
The Transportation Association of Canada is seeking a dedicated professional to join our Economic Development team as a Mobility Solutions Coordinator. This pivotal role involves overseeing the daily operations of our mobility demonstration initiatives, aimed at enhancing the quality of life for residents while fostering economic growth.
The Mobility Solutions Coordinator will engage with community stakeholders and manage various demonstration projects, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among all parties involved.
This position offers the flexibility of a hybrid work model, in accordance with the organization's Alternative Work Arrangement Policy.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the daily functions of the mobility demonstration initiatives.
• Initiate and develop strategic innovation challenges for project applications.
• Facilitate the application process, coordinating reviews with internal and external stakeholders, including technical consultants and project teams.
• Monitor project timelines and deliverables, proactively addressing any risks or challenges.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scopes and manage logistics for demonstration projects, ensuring ongoing communication with all partners.
• Create and distribute communication materials to promote the application process and marketing efforts.
• Actively promote the demonstration initiatives to businesses, stakeholders, and the public.
• Provide logistical support for events and participate in relevant activities as needed.
• Ensure thorough documentation and reporting for all demonstration initiatives.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications and Experience
• A university degree in business administration or a related field.
• At least three (3) years of project management experience, preferably in a municipal or economic development context.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or significant project management experience is advantageous.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Additional skills that are beneficial include: proficiency in multiple languages, experience with municipal or governmental agencies.
• Proven experience in planning and executing communication and engagement events.
• Skills in negotiation and conflict resolution.
• Familiarity with governmental structures and transportation regulations.
• Strong time management, records management, and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service excellence.
• Ability to independently manage projects from inception to completion.
• Proven capability to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders, including city officials, businesses, and community organizations.
• A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for work-related purposes.
• Knowledge of the organization's core competencies and relevant analytical skills.
• Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Willingness to work outside of standard business hours as necessary.
Considered an asset:
• Familiarity with advanced automotive technologies and smart mobility solutions, including connected and autonomous vehicles.
• Knowledge of transportation planning and intelligent transportation systems.
