Job Summary:

Mirmil Products is seeking a highly skilled Senior Architectural Millwork Finisher to join their team in Campbellford, ON. As a key member of the production team, this individual will be responsible for applying the final finishes and coatings to high-end custom millwork projects.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Health and Safety: Create and maintain a safe working environment, promoting adherence to health and safety rules, regulations, and procedures.
  2. Surface Preparation: Prepare millwork surfaces for finishing by sanding, filling, and ensuring proper surface smoothness and cleanliness.
  3. Finish Application: Select and apply appropriate stains, sealers, paints, varnishes, lacquers, and other finishes based on project requirements.
  4. Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain various finishing equipment, such as spray guns, pumps, brushes, rollers, and other tools.
  5. Quality Control: Evaluate finished products to ensure adherence to quality standards, making any necessary touch-ups or adjustments as required.
  6. Custom Finishes: Create custom stains and finishes to match architects' samples.
  7. Process Improvement: Develop and implement standard procedures for common finishing techniques.
  8. Scheduling and Resource Allocation: Work with the Production Manager to determine achievable schedules and allocation of human resources.
  9. Training and Development: Develop and implement training procedures for new employees in the department.
  10. Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, techniques, and materials related to architectural millwork finishing, making recommendations for process improvements as appropriate.
  11. Inventory Management: Ensure sufficient inventory and select correct product as per work orders.
  12. Output Handling: Handle and organize output to maximize efficiency and minimize processing errors and damage.
  13. Cleaning and Maintenance: Adhere to cleaning and maintenance protocols for tools, equipment, and working areas.
  14. Communication: Communicate and uphold company policies and procedures.
  15. Confidentiality: Maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times.
Requirements:
  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional certifications or technical training in woodworking, finishing, or related fields are preferred.
  2. Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Senior Architectural Millwork Finisher or similar role.
  3. Project Experience: Demonstrated experience working on high-end custom millwork projects, such as cabinetry, paneling, doors, and trim.
  4. Automated Equipment: Experience with automated finishing equipment would be considered an asset.
  5. Portfolio: A portfolio showcasing previous work and projects will be highly advantageous.
  6. WHMIS and Safety Standards: Familiarity with WHMIS and associated safety standards.
Working Conditions:

All applicable areas within the millwork facility; machine operation.
