Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled Accounting Specialist to manage and maintain financial records with precision and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process payroll cheques.
  • Calculate and record fixed assets and their depreciation.
  • Maintain and balance various accounts using both manual and computerized accounting systems.
  • Prepare and maintain general ledgers and financial statements.
  • Post journal entries and prepare tax returns.
  • Compile trial balances of accounts and reconcile discrepancies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Completion of a college diploma or a non-university certificate in accounting or a related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 to 7 months in a similar role.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Windows, MS Word, QuickBooks, Simply Accounting, and Sage Accounting Software.

Work Environment: This position is based in an urban setting, requiring attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Personal Attributes: The ideal candidate will be dependable, organized, and possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. A strong client focus and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are essential.
